Obstinacy is the shield , that guards the perimeter of Man, preventing his becoming swamped by the powerful influences lurking beyond his "ring pass not".

Hi Klein,
>If I may intrude, to me it means the longer you stay obstinate, the longer it takes you far >into the future to become free?

No, if you are not stubborn the wind will blow you this way and that.

>In your personal opinion, what should a man do to obtain "obstinacy of Man's constitution?

It's generically there already, more or less, in everyone. And life itself has proven it in the anomalies of world thought as we see it.

Dear Vincent, These pithy little quotes (already generating much reaction), are not to be taken on authority. For a start, that would be indeed, hypocritical, since the notion of freedom honors personal discernment and choice. Would you place authority before Truth?
Having said that, the authors would prefer to remain anonymous i.e. would prefer X to "the Brothers". You can take it in the usual theosophical context, if you like....or not....as I said, it's your choice. I don't wish to convince anyone of anything.
Blessings,
Br.Bruce

Hi Janeth, Definitions by their nature will always be limited. In the context here it means a liberty of decision making and action. (Not licence.) Freedom BTW way is necessary for the development of Love. There is no true love without freedom.

Define "freedom", will you please?

Can a man attain to the Mind of God? Nature does show us variety.
