This summer I spent nearly a month at the ITC in Naarden to work in the library there. I had a lovely time. I'm happy to report that the interpersonal atmosphere has improved greatly, compared to a few years ago when I was also a regular volunteer there.
Like the whole TS, the ITC is in transition. Last weekend there was a 'friends day' where we discussed the future and mission of the centre. Those present agreed that it was time for more openness and a changed program. The character as an 'ashram' or 'spiritual centre' will be maintained, but the aim is to encourage meditation more and create and host programs that really help practice the three objects of the TS.
There are lots of issues to be addressed to be able to make such a transition, but I'm hopeful that the main points will be overcome.
The images above were made by me on the centre itself and in the surrounding neighbourhood. I tried catching the light, which was particularly beautiful this year. I hope some of the beauty of the place came through.
