For the record, in the interests of LEPs (limitted English proficiency individuals), and TC visitors, the initials TPH stand for "Theosophical Publishing House" located at Olcott, TSA's National Center, in Wheaton, Illinois, USA.

oops, here on campus I'm so used to referring to TS and TPH as abbreviated forms to differentiate between our two main buildings. I meant TSA.

Hi Xochi, did you mean to say TSA instead of TS, by any chance? It is my understanding that when we use the initials TS we are referring to the Society at a multinational level. When we use TSA we are talking about The Theosophical Society in America. When you said "The TS has been talking a lot about how to be more proactive on the internet."--were you referring to TSA or TS Adyar? My inference is you are talking about TSA when you said "..I'm going to copy your message to the TS's Internet Interface Committee..", am I correct? Thank u much, Xochi!! 

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback! The TS has been talking a lot about how to be more proactive on the internet. Janeth, you are right, and what you've said is really the basis for the "web 2.0" message. I'm in the habit of keeping up with social media methods 'cause I'm over at the publishing house side, but this is becoming more and more of an issue over at the national headquarters side. They want to do these things, but it becomes a question of allocating the responsibility for posting, making sure it's consistent, and for some, understanding how to use these outlets, and determining if it's worth the time/energy. Not everyone here is internet savvy, or desires to be for that matter. You know us Theosophists tend to be bookish types, lol! And the majority of our demographic is still with the older, matured, generations. But we're all sensing the winds of change. Janeth, I'm going to copy your message to the TS's Internet Interface Committee, so they know how some of you tech savvy Theosophists feel :)

I wish events such as talks/presentations by speaker such as Martin Leiderman, Tim Boyd, Betty Bland, among others, would be advertised on this social Network also. I sent an e-mail to some one at Olcott with this suggestion but he did not reply. Can you do something about that, Xochi? I mean really, how often do people, TSA members and/or TS members visit the TSA website on a daily visits? More and more people are becoming aware of TSA's social Network, the TC. Hundreds, if not thousands around the world, visit the TC, every day, 24/7. Why not take advantage of that? Mrs. Bland gave a talk last Friday. Tim will be giving one on 15 Oct 09. Martin Leiderman will do the same in New York on the 24th. Yes, it is there on TSA's website, but again, this site is visited more frequently than www.theosophical.org. Isn't it true that one of the best ways to advertise an event is the word of mouth? That is how this 'community' has grown to 550 members now, give and take; it says over 600, but that number does not reflect the actual number. There are a lot of false entries, and people registering more than once, so I think that around 550, if not less, is more accurate. BTW: Shouldn’t the order on the speaker scheduled be reversed? Shouldn’t the first talk be on top, and the later one at the bottom? Thank you for caring the way you do, Xochi-- 
