Innovative Programs

Librarians Dan Smolla and Marina Maestas were interviewed for a teleconference originally broadcast in February of this year called Soaring to Excellence: Targeting the Ages: Programming that Hits the Mark, sponsored by College of DuPage. It looks at some of the innovative programs happening in today's libraries to meet the evolving needs of their patrons. We are grateful to College of DuPage IT Special Services for providing this video featuring our Open Mic Soiree.

Help the library match its grant!

The Henry S. Olcott Memorial Library of the Theosophical Society in America was awarded a grant of $25,000 by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). This grant requires matching funds and will enable our unique repository for Theosophical material to be more accessible nationwide with full and updated bibliographic records. You can help the library by donating funds to match our grant. Learn more about this by reading our blog.

Expanded Services in your Library

You may already be aware of the $25,000 grant awarded to our Library by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, with funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the federal Library Services and Technology Act.
Because of this grant and the matching funds already donated by many of you, the library has expanded its services, but we are still working to further increase accessibility. You can learn more about what we are doing by… Continue

It feels so good to be back in touch with the Theosophical Society. I actually joined at the Olcott Library when I was in town about ten years ago. What a beautiful and inspirational piece of architecture... so warm and inviting, also. It makes one want to curl up in a comfortable corner and start devouring all the books and information you have to offer... I just wish it were located in Atlanta. I do believe it would be my home away from home!!

Thanks for the fraternal invitation to join. I have personally traveled to Chicago to visit your TS Library and done some extensive research! I was amazed at your 1930's Monographs!

Like so, I brought you all some copies of the Mahatma Letters from the British Museum in England. I have also done some work and contributions to the Nicholas Roerich Museum in NY.

Look forward in maintaining an educational link.
