- You answered my question perfectly as to Grohl. I have sensed this goodness & joy of life he has via interviews & articles in publications like Rolling Stone et al. He never seems to take himself too seriously, a good sign w/ anyone blessed/cursed w/ celebrity; especially in light of the mega-fame & influence of Nirvana. It's revealing that even after Cobain began to crash & burn towards self-destruction, both Grohl & Novaselic (sp?) came out of it in remarkable & productive ways.
Hmmm, good question re: current living role models. Being an avid student of history I'm good hanging out w/ the ideals of the deceased. My selections were based upon an essential short list of great souls that have influenced for the good my world view. Among our contemporaries I'd add- President Obama, Christopher Hitchens, Stephan Hoeller, & Jane Goodall. If we're truly honest our lists would be endless... All the best!
