The SD in my opinion is not a work meant to be read as other books in a linear fashion, from beginning to end. Also, I personally found working & studying Anthropogenesis initally more approachable and only later moved into Cosmogenesis. As Judge ...

Arthur, You are doing a great service historically in documenting those meeting points in time between Baha'is & Theosophy. Bravo! Maybe you could turn this into an article for the Quest mag?

Arthur, Isn't that the problem w/ most esotericism- it's subtle. I'm sure to meet your criteria for an "endorsement" the Mahatmas should hire a NYC advertising firm. :-)

First we must understand that Steiner's Anthroposophy is Theosophy w/ a Christocentric belief system. His "Esoteric Science: An Outline" is essentially the 'Secret Doctrine' w/ a Christian veneer. In Brother Bruce's quote from Steiner, the truth i...

My Season's Greetings to all the TC Community

From A Christmas Sermon
by Robert Ingersoll

The good part of Christmas is not always Christian- it is generally pagan; that is to say, human, natural.

Long before Christ was born the Sun-God triumphed over the powers of darkness. About the time that we call Christmas the days begin to perceptibly lengthen. Our barbarian ancestors were worshippers of the sun, and they celebrated its victory over the hosts of night. Such a festival was natural and beautiful. The most natural of all religions is… Continue

The Rosicrucian

The Rosicrucian

by Aleister Crowley

I see the centuries wax and wane.
I know their mystery of pain,
The secrets of the living fire,
The key of life I live; I reign
For I am master of desire.

Silent, I pass amid the folk
Caught in its mesh, slaves to its yoke.
Silent, unknown, I work and will
Redemption, godhead's master-stroke,
And breaking of the wands of ill.

No man hath seen beneath my brows
Eternity's exultant house.
No man hath noted in my brain
The knowledge of my mystic spouse.
I wat… Continue

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury Retrogrades for 2009:
May 7-31
September 7-29
December 26-January 15, 2010

When Mercury is retrograde in the following signs, you may experience the following:

Aries:
Expect to be frustrated and frazzled. Assertive, impulsive Aries wants to move ahead, and all of the energy is going backward. Watch what you say and how you say it. Pay attention to what people say to you; you might be pleasantly surprised.

Taurus:
Take time to formulate your thoughts. Taurus an unhurried sign, slows do… Continue

(Excerpts from) The Why and How of Ecstasy by Aleister Crowley

I found this poetic monograph while researching in the Adyar library of the Theosophical Society. It was an original program for the "Rites of Eleusis" a series of public rituals conducted by Crowley at Caxton Hall in London. I have taken the liberty to not include the more out-dated, intellectually embarrassing sections. I have also left the archaic gender specific language in place.

"There is a land of pure delight,
Where saints immortal reign."

So used some of us to sing in our childhood. A… Continue

Buddha Dharma & other terrible goodnesses in life

I invite everyone to join me in posting in this lifelong seeking for that which cannot be contained, analysed, concieved, identified, compartmentalized, intellectualized, or other abuses heaped upon that reality which is. Yet lived, loved, despised, ignored and hoped for.

Welcome dharma friends of the Theosophical community...this is my formal invitation to you.

Dear Soul,

Your understanding of Kerala's social senario is amazing. It is surprising that the so called communists donot try to study about the so called Soul or spirit. There are many hints in our ancient scriptures. But the communists just ovelook it and religiously beleave that religion is Opium. Religion is Opium, but spirituality is pure science.

And it is surprising that the Christians hate communism and promote capitalism and move in the opposite direction from what Comrade Immanueal taught. In the SHRAMAN(Jain/Budh) philosophy APARIGRAHA is an important practice.Aparigraha is not accepting anthing and not accumulating anything meterial. Still they keep away from communists.
I am in between and has to find my path. Thanks for your comment

Greetings Mark
with reference to the first line of the Theosophical Healing Ritual
"Sacred Lady/Sacred Lord of the depths and heights, of the east, north, west and south, who dwells is all forms which have been made."
It was written with the southern hemisphere in mind (as I live there) and you might like to change it to 'east, south, west and north' as your day turns in such a way.
regards and blessings to you
