Crowned by Brotherhood

Many of you know the story of Katharine Lee Bates’ cross-country trip in 1893, during which she was inspired by the diverse beauty of America. Standing at the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, the words of a poem flowed into her mind, and she wrote them down as soon as she returned to her hotel. Eleven years earlier, Samual Ward was inspired to compose a song while riding a ferry from Coney Island to New York City. First published together in 1910, we now know the poem and music together as the… Continue

Our Day of Enchantment

Today was nothing short of magical. Seventeen children, ages 10 months to 62 years, met for a day of building Fairy Houses. We started by talking about the unseen world and how there are so many things in this world that are real, but can’t be seen. Then we spread out a lovely selection of sea shells, polished rocks, and pine cones so that everyone started out with a collection of building materials.

We trooped a short distance to a waterfall park in southeast Denver, where there’s a sheltered… Continue

Hidden Messages in . . . Blood Cells?

We’re probably all familiar with Masaru Emoto’s work by now. In “The Hidden Messages in Water” he shows, very graphically, the effect of human words, thoughts and feelings on the structure of water. We see that beautiful words such as “love” and “thank you” cause freezing water molecules… Continue

Classical Music with Shining Eyes

I'd like to share a phenomenal video with you, but I think it's worth discussing too, so rather than just posting it in the videos, I'm embedding it in this blog. Benjamin Zander is the Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. He also teaches leadership skills (it makes sense that a conductor would know a thing or two about leadership), and I'm convinced that every theosophist needs leadership skills. Every day of our lives, we are leading by example. What does it look like to LIVE the wi… Continue

Brainstorming the Relevance of Theosophy at Krotona

Last week, about 50 theosophists gathered at The Krotona Institute of Theosophy in Ojai, California, to brainstorm the relevance of theosophy and theosophical literature in today’s (and tomorrow’s) world. Most wer… Continue

Geoffrey Hodson writes beautifully of the awakening within man of luminous spiritual (or Christ) consciousness--he calls it the "Christmas of the Soul." Here are two brief excerpts from his book, "The Christ Life from Nativity to Ascension":…

Fairy Houses! I hope that the date is going to work for everyone? If my oldest cannot make it my middle child is 11 and has babysitting jobs already. I know that she would be more than happy to help out with the other younger ones. My oldest will be upset if she cannot make it because she is also looking forward to going, ha ha ha. The 16 year old wants to make fairy houses with the little ones!!
We almost have everyone out of our house, yay :) And I am almost finished with my flower planting.... This is going to be a great summer!!!
I hope all is well with you and yours.
Namaste,
Angie

How have you been Kathy?
It has been a long time! Seems that spring is keeping everyone busy this year.
I am still keeping after 9 people.. There are a lot of lessons that I am learning while having people stay at our house, gratitude and kindness being at the top of the list. It's a Test!! ha ha ha.
I do hope that everything is going well for you in your world.
I wonder if you know what happened to Glenda? When I came back out here yesterday, (the first time in two weeks) I noticed that she was no longer out here anymore. :(
Well have a wonderful chilly day with much love!!
Angie
