I like your poem Joanne. In between the beginning and the end is the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end.

The Return – A Process of Initiation in 9 Parts

What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.
~T.S. Eliot from Part IV of the poem Little Gidding

1

Winter passes slowly.
The ground frozen protects the seed.
In darkness it sleeps
waiting for the return of the light.

2

A glimmer of what is to come.
Will the groundhog see its shadow,
run and hide in the dark belly of earth
afraid of what it casts in the ligh… Continue

My Poetry

Path of Silence

A petal falls.
A petal falls.
Gentle wind.
A petal falls.
Night closes in.
Clouds drift west.
Another
petal
falls.

More Poetry

To the Desert

Never knew I wanted to go
until today.
Nothingness intrigues.
The idea hovers in my mind
as streaks across sky
jet trails shifting
to a flying dragon
branching to a ballerina
that dances above
The Eye of Horus.

It wasn’t empty.
A metaphor for the void usurped
by forests of prophets
amongst crops of granite
reaching past my limited view.
By jays curiously watching
waiting for offerings
from unknowing bearers.
And trees moving towards sky
embedded in rock
holding.

I sit silent

Hi Joanne, I see you've listed "The Sacred Path of the Warrior". Have you ever done meditation with Shambhala? Their centers do great meditation and Tibetan Buddhism teachings. I've actually completed the 5 levels of Sacred Path and would recommend it to anybody. In Whittier do you ever feel the ghost Nixon??

I love your page. I, too, am a writer though I write "historical" fiction. My goal is to write stories that introduce others to ancient history and philosophy. Not, neccesarily, an easy task, but one that I relish. I love your poetry, keep up, there are too few poets in the world. I do hope you are well. Take care and God bless.
