Profile Information

About Me:
I am currently National Secretary of the Theosophical Society in America. I have been a member of the TS since 1973, and an ovo-lacto vegetarian since 1972. I was a resident staff member at Olcott for the Centennial in 1975, and worked in Wheaton at that time until 1981, with one year hiatus where I went to school in NYS. The first TS book I ever read was CWL's Masters and the Path, still a good read. I was good friends with Dora Van Gelder Kunz, who in many ways was a mentor to me. I was fortunate to also meet and connect with many long time staff members at the TS in 1975, such as Virginia Hanson, Joy Mills, Ann Kerr Green, Zella Balch, and many, many other fine staff members who passed through during that time. It was truly a New Age Community at that time. I was on staff for the Dali Lama's visit in 1980, Peter and Eileen Caddy of Findhorn, David Spangler, Lama Govinda, and many other folks. I learned how to meditate and do some T.T. with Dora, who co-founded Therapeutic Touch Healing Modality, and was a long time member of the T.T. group which met in the Library for many years.

Love Yoga, Ballroom, Latin, Rhythm, and C&W Dance, bicycling, jogging, long walks in the woods, more long walks in the woods, and of course, long walks in the woods. Anywhere in nature where one can feel the harmony and wholeness of all life. MySpace is a good space.

The Theosophical Society in America remains politically neutral in government politics’.

The Society maintains a neutral stance on partisan politics. Although some Olcott staff members are pro-democrat and other staff members are pro-republican, no signage supporting one candidate over another is posted on the grounds of the TS in America. It is an individual’s right to support the party they think best. But, like in the case of Annie Besant and her involvement in politics when she was international President of the TS, the National Center remains completely neutral and uninvolved i… Continue

HI Jeffrey! It's been busy at home, but my heart is never far from the church and TS. We hope that Chuck and I can make it to TheosoFest this year. And I send my best wishes that it will be a beautiful day!

I saw your jamming picture. Looks like you're having a good time. I've been working alot with some new singer/songwriter folks down here with a new sound. Don't know what you call it...About being neutral politically, that's a good stance to take, to not be partisan, then you won't be one-sided. I've been that way for a long time until this time when a change was eminent. Hope it's a good one, that's all. I like most of your tastes here I see and was thinking about putting on some Moody Blues. I always loved their words to take me out of the forest. Nature can be one of our best teachers. It's hard to take me out of the woods, but sometimes I get bored and have to go somewhere else. Sometimes diversity is good.

Hi Jeffrey,
I'm not sure what Ning is, but I like the idea of starting a Fort Wayne group online. Can you tell me a little more? Thanks, talk to you later,
Maat

I don't know how one person could have done all you did for us in the Experience. Hat's off to you! You really have it going on! Too bad you didn't see my best, but I'm so swamped for words (Much better at writing), when such a shy girl can play and talk with her fingers... I'm beginning to try and lighten up on myself and say, like you mentioned, we all are becoming...an unfolding process. Thanks for your time & effort for all of this.

Great to know you my friend. I'm still hitting the books as far as all the Theosophical texts I've found. I love it. Planning to come up your way perhaps in the spring with some of my friends from the Fort Wayne lodge.
Love and Light,
Maat

Hi Jeffrey:
It sure was a pleasure meeting you in person. Your merriment during our hour of agony while delivering our speeches still tickles me. That was a good way to further assimilate the group. You put in long hours helping us along in those four days. We all thank you for that. Four days I'll always remember with the warmest fondness.
Thanks,
Jim
