Honesty and respect

I just don't feel that all this negative energy is beneficial to the TC. I feel that it is unneccessary, especially considering it is a personal issue and not a Theosophical subject.

A man prayed: O God, let me hear you. The thunder roared. But he didn't hear. O God, let me see you. A rose blossomed right in front of him. But he didn't see. O God, let me feel you. And he brushed away a butterfly that landed on his hand.

He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, "No".
He said her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary.

Regarding your request for books to read.
"The Path", an alternate view of reality is excellent. it is based on "Thinking and Destiny". The movie "What Dreams May Come " is based on some ideas in the book. If you can, watch the movie, then reed the book, then watch the movie again.

"The Art of Happiness, A handbook for Living" by the Dalai Lama is also excellent. It should be made law that every child read this before they can graduate school.

Hope you enjoy them.

Namaste.

Wow Jackie....you pay me a great honour by inviting me to be your friend and sending me the lovely white owl and message. Truly, I am really touched. Reminded me of my days as a leader in the Girl Guide movement....I was 'Snowy Owl' for the Brownie pack.

I have just read your profile very quickly (because I am late sowing my spring vegetable garden.) See a great likeness of mind exists between us. I can see in you a really true friendship. Seems to me you are precisely the type of Soul this Society was started for.
I don't doubt you will (probably) find it to be the most interesting journey of your life too! Oh boy...this Society does things to and for people! I hope the quest for 'the path' that is right for you is fruitful...that you don't have to spend alot of time exploring 'side paths/diversions' before you do find 'your own unique way' of doing the life sentence. :)

As a Christian, I eventually discovered 'paths' with language suited to my inherent western understandings prove the most valuable to me.

For my western language skills, writers of western mystical traditions are usually more understandable for questing.
The TSNZ ning group http://theos-newzealand.ning.com recently had a thread where some of us listed our favourites. I was struck with the observation that they, too, were books with easy to understand 'language'

My first, and still favourite, book from TS was Light on the Path. If you have already come across it you will know there is a very profound wisdom in the few words of that book. I've been able to ponder that one for many years...teasing out gems of delight over and over again from the same few words of really good, practical advice about the way to enhance the private and personal 'inner journey'. I also once had the idea it was quite likely 'the' path of wisdom back in times when people didn't speak so much. The kernal of truths in existence before so many words...so many myths and legends flooded the world. I happen to think we are possibly working our way around to getting back to those times of 'Simple Truths' said and acted upon with few words. Hallelujah.

(Will certainly quieten me up when we do!) :) Silence is Golden.......(line in a song) XX
