Awesome comment, Jack!! ☺ It is 11:45 PM and I must retire, but will get back to this when time permits!! ☺ I tend to believe the possibility you mentioned--"the possibility that life exists upon every Celestial Body." Thx much for sharing!! ☺

Janeth, I refer to the page in "Isis Unveiled" I listed in my previous post. Impersonal to me, refers to activities based upon selfless or unselfish impulses or motives. It refers to in-breathing of energies to suppliment those possessed inside, whi…

This is an interesting thread well worth reading. I have recently puchased the book "Esoteric Christianity" some months ago. I have only barely looked at it so far. Elias and Elijah... interesting. So far, I'm at an understanding toward the Christos…

This is such an important topic of course and one that will continue for a very long time.. I can only respond from my own study and perspective.. First I think that likely the original language of Jesus and for that matter John the Baptist was Ara…

I do not buy the argument that Jews were picked to suffer for no fault of their own to help mankind. The reason people suffer is through their own past actions. There isn't one set of laws of nature for you and me and another for Jews. As to exposi…

The simple answer is that fresh food contains "soma," divine intelligence referenced in the Vedas that enriches the body. Once food is frozen or is cooked and left to sit, that is gone, and now the food will produce "ama," which is the basis for dis…

Frank - thank you for this terrific post. I have a question to you which I don't mean as a criticism, but a genuine inquiry. How would you explain the catastropic treatment of the Jews by the Nazis, and the horrific murder of over six million innoce…

Annie Bessant

From her "Esoteric Christianity or the Lesser Mysteries," we read that Jesus and the Christ were two separate beings with two separate destinies. (I'll add to what she wrote that Jesus was the incarnation of Elias from the OT and the Christ was previously Osiris--or so I've heard elsewhere). The Christ inhabited the body of Jesus for just three years. Prior, he was a monk studying in Egypt. No mention of his having gone to India (which isn't to say he didn't). Not many are aware of this teaching, but it was a common belief among the early Christians or so noted bibical scholar and author Bart Erhman claims. It is aluded to by Yogananda and was taught by Charlie Lutes.

Another interesting observation is she states that Jesus was born 105 b.c.e. I had read that only one other place. Most put his birth during the period of Heriod, about 5 b.c.e.

Goodbye

It has come to my attention that Janeth Murillo was banned recently from this site based on posts she made that some found disagreeable. I am a relatively new member, and it was Janeth reaching out to me when I first signed on that made me feel welcome here. I felt from her that I belonged much more quickly than I might have otherwise, and it was with her encouragement and the warmth of her responses to me that I began to feel really good about Theosophy. I remember thinking, "I like this consci… Continue

Paul McCartney, Ringo, Donovan in Benefit to bring meditation to children

Paul McCartney, Ringo, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Moby and Paul Horn are playing a benefit concert April 4 at Radio City Music Hall. The proceeds will go toward film director David Lynch's foundation to teach meditation to children, especially those from lower income and under achieving areas. Lynch's group has taught meditation to 10,000 kids in South America, and has sponsored a peer-reviewed study of the benefits of meditation on inner-city children in Detroit, which was very successful. There has… Continue

Is anyone actively reading the Theosophy books?

I've just finished three Theosophy books, all wonderful, and I'm now reading "The Secret Doctrine," cheating as it were by running searches on specific topics on these two books and her other works and reading to topic. (Currently, working on Jesus and the Christ, fascinating that these are two separate beings with two separate destinies--how many people have that knowledge?

I'm interested in comparing notes with others who are studying Theosophy. I'm not interested in teachings on love, compas… Continue

Atlantis and Lemuria

I am very much enjoying W. Scott-Elliot's "The Story of Atlantis and The Lost Lemuria." I hope he touches on ancient Egypt. Are there other books such as this on humanity's history? What was before the first root race? Were we completely spirit? How did we get trapped into matter and such a limited existence as what we have on earth? What does Theosophy teach us?

The bodies of animals evolve over time. What of the soul? Where did it start? Does the soul ascend through lower forms of matter: min… Continue

In reference to Jesus vs. Christ, it's clear that Jesus the man, is the body, and Christ is the concept that God uses to make men perfect.
It can be achieved by anybody that follows the steps of the first born in order to inherit the same gift to become a Son of God (Romans 8:29) (Gal 4:1-7) It's not simple, of course, but that is the prize. Like the Gautama became Budha, by the light of Buddhi.
Two differente things.

Dear,
Thanks for your comment........
And it is wonderful to know that you have keen interest in Indian spirituality and culture..........
Unfortunately what I said about untouchability is TRUE...
The Hindus divid time into many Yugas........
Rama lived in Tretha Yuga
Krishna Lived in Dwapara Yuga
Rama himself killed the saint Shambuga as advised by his Guru Vasishta who was a Brahmin, because Shambuga was a lower caste
In Mahabharata there are many striking examples of racism based on caste...
Two great warriors namely Karna and Ekalavya were humiliated and neutralised by the Brahmins under Dhrona
There is no evidense to prove that there was a time when all castes were equals.....
And it is unrealistic to argue that the son of a warrior will be a good warrior and the son of an administrator will be a good administrator.....
Just to cover the horrible past , the Vedic Hindus put forward all kinds of arguments ..........
But here the subjuct is Spirituality..............
Other than rituals and sacrifices,, do you find anything whichcan be called as spirituality in Vedas...?

Dear,
A highly advanced civilisation existed all over the Indian subcontinent much before the arrival of the white race to India and the creation of the Vedas. That is the Indus Valley civilisation. And the religion of Ahimsa(nonviolance) or Shraman/Jaina Dharma was the religion of those times. The Vedic Hindus vandalised their places of worship and murdered many monks all over India. The 24th Guru Mahaveer was the contemporary of Sakyamuni Budha. If you are interested in reading about Indian spirituality, then I recommend you not to miss this wonderful heritage of the indigenious Indians.......
