I am not that crazy about meat anyhow. I eat meat, but not every day. If this is about giving up meat once a weak, then I am in. I suggest that the meat we give up go to the people who do not have food.

Arthur Give us some reasons to stop eating meat. You talk about about the climate. Do you really think that cow farts are the main danger we face. Does a cow or chicken that is produced by genetic engineering in farms have spirit? Why should people…

The Northward Journey..

I was just thinking about the winter Solstice.. and how the sun will now start it's northward journey and each day in the northern hemisphere will start getting longer..

I'm not really a big fan of astrology but the ancient Vedic Astrology as I recall suggests that now is a good time to make resolutions and begin a new enterprise or endeavor.. The reason being the ever increasing strength of the sun... so as when we ride a wave in the surf we are hitching a ride on solar energy.

When we say so… Continue

My spiritual consort..

My wife and I have been together for thirty seven years yesterday.. It's hard to imagine and now with our children grown up and establishing themselves in the world it's been a very worthwhile experience.. My wife is my spiritual consort and has always been there and it's a wonderful life experience...

Among the people of Baha, however, marriage must be a union of the body and of the spirit as well, for here both husband and wife are aglow with the same wine, both are enamoured of the same mContinue

A provisional translation of the "Tablet of the Universe" or LAWH-I-AFLAKIYYIH by Abdul-Baha

Most of us Baha'is are familiar with many works by Abdul-Baha dealing with social aspects of life and Baha'i principles.. but it is also true that He dealt with more mystical themes as well.. The following is a provisional translation into English of the "Tablet of the Universe". It is called "provisional" because the translation has not been approved as yet for wide distribution ..also the author is "anonymous" which adds some mystery. But as you can see it deals with cosmological… Continue

On smog.. and ecological disaster..

We live in a fragile world where creatures are interdependent ..including man. Unfortunately humans have caused a major disaster I believe and this is not good Ahimsa or kindness to other creatures including our own..

I happen to live in the San Bernardino Valley of Southern California.. and was responding earlier to someoen who was critical of the issue of global warming so I gave my own response below which I decided to post:

The San Bernardino Mountains are a branch of the Sierras and there… Continue

The arrest and disappearance of Behnam Rohani Fard...

Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that a Baha’i singer-songwriter, Behnam Rohani Fard, has been arrested in his native city of Yazd . His whereabouts are unknown.

There is a pattern in the Islamic Republic of Iran where people are "arrested" and then disappear.. Maybe months later it becomes known perhaps.. so it is more like an "abduction".. People are often abducted at night time and they "disappear".

So we do not forget people who have been abducted I have added a song composed by… Continue

Not that I expect to be on the theosophy forum often: I am into theology rather than history. I heard Lil Abdo speak on the Bahai-Wiccan (ie Crowley) connection in the UK last summer. She's very good at what she does, which is tracing personal connections and building up a picture of the networks through which new ideas spread
