Arthur, You are doing a great service historically in documenting those meeting points in time between Baha'is & Theosophy. Bravo! Maybe you could turn this into an article for the Quest mag?

Well I don't see much evidence though that Sri Ramakrishna actually "validates" the existence of the Mahatmas or endorses the Theosophical Society. He seems if anything to be somewhat ambivalent to discouraging it. I'm just thinking that he's not...

On smog.. and ecological disaster..

We live in a fragile world where creatures are interdependent ..including man. Unfortunately humans have caused a major disaster I believe and this is not good Ahimsa or kindness to other creatures including our own..

I happen to live in the San Bernardino Valley of Southern California.. and was responding earlier to someoen who was critical of the issue of global warming so I gave my own response below which I decided to post:

The arrest and disappearance of Behnam Rohani Fard...

Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that a Baha’i singer-songwriter, Behnam Rohani Fard, has been arrested in his native city of Yazd . His whereabouts are unknown.

There is a pattern in the Islamic Republic of Iran where people are "arrested" and then disappear.. Maybe months later it becomes known perhaps.. so it is more like an "abduction".. People are often abducted at night time and they "disappear".

So we do not forget people who have been abducted I have added a song composed by… Continue

I wanted to post a very fine statement regarding G.R.S. Mead by Dr. Stephen A. Hoeller in an introduction to "The Hymns of Hermes" published by Phanes Press in 1991:

"G.R.S. Mead's greatest merit may be said to have been his ability to discern the inner, spiritual meaning of the Hermetic and Gnostic writings. His fervent spirit, stimulated by his theosophic orientation, entered the experiential core of these ancient records and perceived there a timeless message affirming the human potential fo… Continue

Beginnings

I thought I would add some notes from my exploration of Alchemy and Hermetica as these have attracted my interest lately.. I'm also taking a Foundation Course on Alchemical Symbolism so wanted a place to record my observations..

Recognizing that Alchemy is widely found in many tradtions from Taoism to Western cultures I became attracted to the meaning of the symbols. Also I began reading some of Franz Hartmann and other writers.. So here I hoppe to record someof my thoughts.
