It is recommended that you read through the relatively short Farthing article, Death and Rebirth, as a group before beginning the discussion questions.


Discussion questions


1- What principles of humans survive after death? What happens to the lower bodies, the lower vehicles, when man dies?

2- What is the difference in meaning between the word “ego” when used by Theosophy to refer to the Individuality, and the word “ego” as used by psychologists? How are the terms different and how are they similar?

3- In the Theosophical context, what is the difference between objective and subjective reality? Does it have the same meaning as in modern psychology?

4- What are the factors that influence the conditions and experience of the post-mortem state/process?

5- According to The Mahatma Letters to A.P. Sinnett, what sort of being constitutes the “angel guide” of the average medium?
