Rainbow body/Introduction

My name is Drew and I am 41 years of age. I have been looking for an answer to an experience I had when I was a child (age 6 years or maybe less) maybe some sort of explanation would be wonderful.

I don't really know how to go about this so I think the best way is just to write down what I felt and what I actually saw during my experience.

I was about 6 years old or so, I was lying on the sofa one lazy afternoon,it was a warm English summer's day and it was too warm to run a round plus I suffer with hay fever and asthma so I was feeling a little tired due to the heat. Suddenly I was floating above the ground (around 3 foot or so above the ground) my feet were hovering above the floor and my arms were stretched out wide ( like Christ on the cross) I could feel the wind in my hair and the heat from the sun on my face. I was on top of near by hill, I did not wonder how I got there or feel I was in any kind of trouble, I just felt peace. I had this feeling I should look to my left so I did, I noticed coming over the horizon of a near by hill a multi-colored being,the only way I could describe this being is that it was rainbow like in appearance but the shape was more of a multi-colored mass. It was not humanoid in appearance,no limbs or head.

The rainbow mass entity had a lovely energy about it,peace like. I knew the cloud mass was smiling at me but the cloud mass had no features to use to smile with,it was an inner smile (if that makes sense) it was as if the entity was saying to me ( I am here so don't worry) as quick as anything I was back on the sofa. Being so young I carried on my with day as if nothing had happened.

I had many other spiritual experiences as I grew up but nothing like the initial experience I have just described.

I had trouble describing this entity to people until I saw pictures of Rainbow bodies described in Indian literature.

I have asked many so called experts on why I had this experience, I have had little luck if any in getting a satisfying answer to satisfy my hunger for an answer.

As anyone had a similar experience or could explain to me what I had seen and why I had seen this being.

I think that it was a spontaneous astral projection (also called OOBE) and the entity you have seen is what in theosophy is called deva. They belong to the evolution parallel to our own, and while being more advanced than us, have never been people like us, though I've read that there are exceptions.
In books by G. Hodson there are many pictures of them, though probably imperfect ones. I attach one of them. Was is alike? (This happened to be blue but colors may widely differ).

Though there is a somewhat human-like appearance, it isn't a body of such form but a system of whorls in a round plasma-like body, while the painter tried to accentuate human traits.
Besides of the book by G. Hodson you can read about them in works by C. Leadbeader and Dora Kunz.

I will do some research on "Deva" and look for the books mentioned above.The picture is similar to what I had seen, the entity's mass fluctuated & shimmered with movement.

Interesting theory though, is there a reason why this entity would show itself to me? does there have to be a reason?

I felt at home with this being and the energy it produced.In my body and my current life I have felt homesick (Lost) and I have always felt so for no apparent reason.I feel like I am waiting for something,but what?

Maybe it wanted to encourage, especially if it had a connection with you in previous lives. Some of the devas help babies to born.
Nevertheless, their way of thinking is very different from ours, so it's very hard to judge about their motives.
There could be no intentions from its side but you as a child could perceive it and got attracted to it when it happened to be near. Among the childred the cases of visions of nature spirits is more often than among the adults. (Nature spirits belong to the same line of evolution as the devas but much lower on the scale).

I think it you have shared a wonderful experience - thank you. I have had many. Sometimes I have been crook, or see them when my mother is healing others. I see them as an extension of our beautiful life. Don't despair if you do not recapture the experience when you want to, it will come when the time is right. I think that the advice that Konstantin gives you is good. Reading some of Mr Hodson's books on the deva kingdom will help you to understand them, and their visits.

Oh! I have not heard of M. Zupa.

We have it on our records at the NZ TS headquarters that the picture posted above was painted by Marvin Richard Gratiot. The painting is called 'The Devaraja of Mt Manaia Range, McLeod's Bay, Whangarei' which is in the North Island in New Zealand. Mr Hodson also used Frank Eden for his New Zealand work and artist, sculpturess Ethlewynne (Wynne) Quail for his observations of devas and faery folk in South Africa.

what an experience you describe here,truly deep and powerful visions.
I am not afraid to say that much of what you described above went over my head (I could not understand) that is my ignorance showing and not your lack of communication skills.
My experience was pure love and an "Hello we're still here for you" experience,that is what it felt like.I'm not sure what it meant (if anything) but it made me fully aware of other dimensions and of the spiritual beings around us all.Thanks for sharing your experience(s)

Martin I think you should add your experiences to your Secret Doctrine Vol. 4 and 5.
They really belong there, not in Shambala, not above Atman, not here. Don't you think you are misleading and confusing people?

I don't think your intimidations are healthy for to the community.

Martin, you earlier said that you are a spiritually dead dugpa preparing to do things to someone.
The way I see it you are ignoring my simple advise, ridiculing the Mahatmas (you deleted the "Madmasters tale" now), and you keep attacking the community with pollution and subtle negativity, invoking confusion and fear in people who are new. I wouldn't be surprised if others had enough of it, you were banned from the other Theosophical group for something like that I believe.

Thanks but I will never like the way you play, if I had my way I would have banned you from here a long time ago. You are distorting the theosophical teachings everywhere I look, it's disgusting to look at. I'm not sure why they allow you to be here.
