In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I'd attempt to post a thread on one of my favorite subjects lately, ghosts and the paranormal.
I'm quite sure this has been talked about before, so just tell me to read the archives if I'm annoying. =)

Otherwise, I would love to hear of anyone's personal experiences with such things. Anybody ever see or experience a "ghost" first hand? If so, what do you think it was? Intelligent spirit? Residual energy? Demon - and are such things as demons real?

I have never seen a ghost, but I tend to believe such things, in one sense or the other, are quite real and would like to experience this first hand some day.

too true, Brother Martin! But maybe a horny ghost could be an interesting haunting? HAha!

Martin you know I jest...
But, your talk of incubi and succubi, reminds me - there was a famous case in the States in the 70's where a woman was haunted by a male spirit that would sexually ravish her nightly, and was quite horrific. It has never been debunked, and ended up as a book and movie called The Entity, I believe. But there is still real footage that was shot when authorities first visited her house to investigate, and it's some of the most provocative paranormal footage on record. Flying orbs and things moving around fairly violently in her room. I will have to see if I can find any of that real footage online...

Here is a report on it

I wouldn't want to see anything living in the Astral. Intuition informs me I would see these things in accordance to what I attract, through the forces or energies I give harbor. I am lying, I would really see the extreme of the Astral which borders or even permeates into the Real, the Akashic, and I would subsequently be flamed for too much goofing off. Bad pupil! You are paying too much heed to the wants of the spacesuit!

You know a year ago I visited San Antonio, Texas and joined what's called a "ghost walk" where we walked around the Alamo and other sites that were believed by locals to be "haunted".. It was informative and worth while .. but the hotel we stayed in was also quite a "trip".. It had been a medical center built in the thirties before it became a hotel.. Interestingly, in our room you could still see a sliding glass across the room separating the toilet facilities from the rest of our room..

I had very bad "vibes" about that .. considering what went on in that place when it was a medical examining room.. During a restive sleep I had this feeling of a patient that had been subject to maybe some crude kind of examination or other.. My heart went out to them but the "vibes" continued.

We went out looking around one evening and I could see a eerie light on our floor.. Later I found out a man had been murdered there.. Well it made the news big time on local television.. I was kind of glad when we left that hotel.. but overall I recommend San Antonio Texas as great place to vacation.

Sorry to say though in spite of it's good location I wouldn't recommend the Emily Morgan Hotel.

I think South America has a festival honoring the dead. However, I think 'the dead' are those who are among others where we the living cannot go to. This globe is certainly not a temple and anyone might investigate whatever it is they want to investigate. I wonder if coming across what it is that we 'can' reach, and not really having any measure worth mentioning of 'sympathetic souls' that through our focus upon one or another of these manes, or shades, whatever, we acquire a kindredness with something degenerate. It has been noted that we are what we focus our consciousness upon.

It's interesting you mention the "Day of the Dead".. One essential part of this as I recall is honoring loved ones who have passed on.. visiting them.. so maybe this derives from ancestor worship.

My personal understanding of ghosts...

In general, I prefer to call "shades".

As I've been explained, when we die,.. we go thru a series of deaths. The 'onion layers' which make up our many bodies take turns dying like slow falling dominos.

The vital self or spark is the seed, leaving each body at its dying moment. The lower self, comprised of the Astral, or emotioal, or elemental self, and the lower mind, or personality, or ego, or collection of memories,... is called a Shade once this seed has left. A shade can continue to function after the seed or spark has left. But it continues to disentegrate over time. It is this which mediums can contact. It retains minimal feedbak abilities, and memory recall.

Ghosts tend to be victums of a tramatic event. This charges the emotional body. It sometimes allows it to remain longer than should be. It also tends to trap the shade in a repeat of the tramatic event. And like a broken record reinacts the events while it remains.

Ghosts which are seen as 'partial bodies, maybe without legs, maybe just a disembodied head show the progression of a shade. That part of them which is not used, which doesn't have attention applied to it,.. etc... legs for walking,.. eventually , the body for other acivities, disintegrate slowly.

In the end, only a point of semi-conciousness remains, a globe, until it to cycles back into the elemental soup.
