E.T. Mashup thread: Are they here? Why or why not? Do they incarnate on Earth? (and other explorations)

I decided to start this thread to continue some discussion that arose in another thread, "Alien contact: a form of clairvoyance?."

This thread is meant to explore various questions surrounding the possibility that extraterrestrials may be poking around here on Earth! Any topic even remotely related to that concept is welcome here. Among the ideas that have been opened up in the above-mentioned thread:

- Do ETs visit Earth?
- Could spiritually-advanced ETs from other star systems be communicating with human mediums? Why or why not?
- Do the souls of ETs from elsewhere in the universe incarnate in human bodies? Again, why or why not?
-Assuming ETs exist, why would they choose the ways that they do to interact with us?

First, one must understand what the term "extra-terrestrial" entails. This title means quite specifically "beyond earth." Therefore, any entity that exists beyond Terra, would be considered an ET. The planetary and solar bodies/beings are ET's, as are many beings existent in other dimensions. Those whom exist beyond the plane of the physical dimensions have always been here. Humans would like to ascribe such beliefs of ET existence to humanoid forms alone, and perhaps there are these, but certainly there are many more who are not.

Excellent observations, Svaha. I agree completely!

Star Trek is great--except it always irked me how so many of the races encountered are humanoid!!! Even on this lone planet, we see such a diversity of forms--and those are all biological, not even counting life-forms that may have transcended biology...

I did choose the term "ET" carefully to describe any entity from beyond the planet Earth. This does not include such entities as native devas/nature spirits, etc., the way I use it.

"Alien" is a term that means something altogether different to me--something more broad and inclusive, and also more vague. Any sentient "other" whose nature and/or origins are ill-understood is "alien" in my book. That can include inner "others," manifestations of our own subconscious, for example--parts of our own mind that manifest to us as separate from our own ego--perfectly valid "aliens" as far as I'm concerned. The way I understand and use the term, it's relative--what is alien to one person may not be so alien to another....

You don't ask for much do you?

What you call ET is simply an energy form that happens to have the ability to process information “much like an Intel processor does", in an infinite number of way.
You are and ET, but you have not been exposed enough to information that allows you to understand yourself or your evolution.
Other intelligences are present within earth at the same time. They do not have to visit it to be with it.
But they do visit. They choose to bring awareness. Crop Circles “The real ones". And the symbols we use every day are manifestations of the influence of other intelligences on us. The reason we believe in God is that we can’t accept that we have had anything with the creation of our universe.

I will have to write later about other issues being explored in the question

Backing up a bit I think if we have the perspective that the universe is interconnected we can agree that even matter that is found on earth has stellar connections..

I recall a few years ago when a rock from Mars was discovered on the surface of the earth... More have since been found:

Meteorite hunters have found about 26 rocks on Earth that have been identified as having come from Mars (some of these broke apart upon entering the atmosphere, so the 26 rocks were found as about 40 separate pieces).

So if there is interconnectedness found in matter why should there not be interconnectedness of sentient life... Is man isolated to this earth?.. I think there is sentient life in the universe and we are part of that sentient life in the universe whether we are aware of this or not. We could indeed be psychically connected or connected by inter-dimensional interstices.

Giordano Bruno held that "there is an infinity of other worlds, each of which is inhabited."

Emanuel Swedenborg wrote:

“Who can ever think that so vast a means [as the universe] exists for so small and limited an end as there would be if only one earth were inhabited, and from it alone existed heaven! What would this be for the Divine, which is infinite, and to which a thousand, nay, myriads of earths, and all of them full of inhabitants, would be little, and scarcely anything!”

(Arcana Coelestia 6698, see also The Earths in the Universe 126).

In the Baha'i Writings it states that man is not restricted to this world

"...[I]t cannot be said there was a time when man was not." (SAQ 196) "...[I]t cannot be imagined that the worlds of existence, whether the stars or this earth...were without man!" (SAQ 197)

The reference SAQ is to a book entitled "Some Answered Questions" a series of talks given by Abdul-Baha Abbas in the Holy Land in 1904-1906.

One thing that's important that I've learned from the alien lore out there is that we are multi-dimensional beings, living simultaneously in multiple realities. However we are only actively conscious of one at a time.

What this implies is that whatever reality we find ourselves to be consciously participating in we have chosen. We have free will and that means we can have whatever we want. So for those arguing there is a new golden age for mankind coming our way that can be a reality for them. And for the naysayers believing the worst is yet to come, fire and brimstone and all that jazz, they can gladly(sadly) manifest that reality also.

Whats cooky about this is that the lay person would ask how can we both be experiencing totally different realities with the other person still in ours? well thats wuts amazing about being a multidimensional being. my perception of the now will include you in it, but the "you" im seeing isnt as real as the "you" you are to yourself playing the role in the reality you have manifested with me acting the part in your version of existence. thus, multiple realities. does that make sense?

our higher dimensional bretheren known as the pleadians are actually aware of multiple realties at the same time. idk if thatd still be fun...must be though

I agree with you in principle, Arthur but I still use the term "ET" to delineate a specific topic or reference--purely for the sake of conversation. It doesn't mean I don't recognize that all life and matter are fundamentally on the same footing. What's the difference between an ET and a human? Nothing but a concept in our minds when you get right down to it.

As a matter of fact, I am part of a group that meets on Thursdays at the National Center, called the "Space Brothers" group. Its essential purpose is the recognition that the principle of Universal Brotherhood embodied in the Society's First Object extends to all beings, no matter where they come from in the universe--and that it includes "ETs." The group is informal and unofficial, just a couple of oddball staff members who choose to spend break time on Thursdays pushing the message of true Universal Brotherhood! :)

Well "pushing" is a strong word--our Space Brothers group is a lot like the TS itself: Membership is totally voluntary, we don't impose it on anybody. We just meet in the family room, and anybody who wants to attend is welcome!

Dan,

Thanks for telling me about this.. that Universal Brotherhood extends to all beings.. MAybe when we say "man" we also mean sentient beings as translated in some Buddhist texts.. Also, I was looking up the term "chiliocosm" the otehr night and thought I'd share a definition:

It might be said that the universe is infilled with chiliososms, each one corresponding more or less to a hierarchy with its own integral system of worlds, regions, or divisions, each division again being subdivided to form the vast complexity of universal nature we see around us. Further, each such hierarchy from another standpoint consists of divine, spiritual, intellectual, astral, or astral-physical divisions running from the higher downwards to the lowest; and the three lowest of each such chiliocosm bear the names kama-loka (or kama-dhatu), rupa-loka (or rupa-dhatu), and arupa-loka (or arupa-dhatu), these three commonly spoken of as the trailokya, the name applying to whatever universe, hierarchy, or chiliocosm they may be in or belong to.

If we look at the Jaina model of the universe I think we could see a dynamic flow of Jivas moving around and some rising to Samadhi:

I had a few more things to note here..

One is that when we see a diagram say of the universe we need to be reminded that it's in process..dynamic and moving .. It doesn't stand still.

The other is that the Jaina model of the universe is shared by some other pretty well known traditions. Such as the Kaballistic view of Adam Kadmon..

and according Swedenborg see:

Thus "man" is a microcosm of the universe.

Thanks to Katinka!

4th Major Rock Edict

In the past, the killing and injuring of living beings, lack of respect towards relatives, brahmans and sramanas had increased. But today, thanks to the practice of Dhamma, on the part of the Beloved of the Gods, the king Piyadassi, the sound of the drum has become the sound of Dhamma, showing the people displays of heavenly chariots, elephants, balls of fire, and other divine forms. Through his instruction in Dhamma abstention from killing and non-injury to living beings, deference to relatives; brahmans and sramanas, obedience to mother and father, and obedience to elders have all increased as never before for many centuries. These and many other forms of the practice of Dhamma have increased and will increase.

The above inscription mentions "heavenly chariots" could possibly refer to the Vimanas or flying machines mentioned in the Ramayana and Mahabharata..
