Thank you very much for sharing this with us, Mark. Do you know if he has given talks at TSA? I wonder if he would be so kind as to give a talk there in the near future...

I'm not sure if he's spoken at Olcott or not, he is currently the librarian for the New York Branch. He's a excellent speaker so I would hope that he becomes more visible on the national scene.

Thanks a lot for letting us know, Pablo!!☺ Are you going? Will you please do everything in your power to record the lecture? Please?-☺ Perhaps the U.L.T. is in the habit of recording/video taping talks as this one, perhaps? Can't wait for the day when most of these Theosophical talks would be broadcasted on the web!! Oh what a treat that is going to be!!☺

Also, have you read his abridgement of The-SC? If you can spare a moment, kindly, will you please share your sentiments on it with us?-☺

If TS members and/or students of Theosophy wanted to invite him, what would be the best way to communicate with him?

Wish I were in CA this week, but, unfortunately, I am out of town. I love attending talks like the one being held at USC this Friday, not only do we get to meet other Theosophists and students of Theosophy, but we also get to feed our energy with that of the group...I find it fascinating..., sensing the all-around energy when Theosophical like-minded minds, hearts and souls get together..!!☺

Hope you can make it, Pablo!!☺ Enjoy the adventure!!☺

PS. Have an idea..☺ How about creating a "Blog" about his lecture this Friday?-☺ You know how it is..☺.., a friend tells a friend who tells a friend...☺

Janeth, there is a good news, the U.L.T going to record the lecture in DVD.
The organizer, Dr J.Colbert, said , when they are ready, he will let me know. No, anfortunately, I can't go.
Idon't have the book yet, but when I get it, for sure I will share my impressions with all of you.
The best way to contact him is through his mail or phone, in the Emily Sellon Memorial library.

The TS has very good speakers, like Ed abdill, Martin Leiderman, Joy Mills, John Algeo. Ravi Ravindra, Robert eldwood, and many more. Every one of them is necessary to do the theosophical work, to transform hearts and mind of the humanity seeking a better way of living, and understanding.

Sorry for my English

That is indeed good news, Pablo!!☺ And yes, there are good speakers out there, the important factor is getting the necessary financial resources available to invite them to give their Theosophical talks, hopefully at a place where the talks can be broadcasted on-line for anyone in the world to benefit from. I don't think everyone can afford to buy CDs, books and other literature, so making it available to others, on-line, free of cost, I think is a good thing. BTW (by the way), hope you were able to watch Robert Eldwood a week ago on Monday at the broadcasting of TSA 123rd SNG (summer national gathering!)...I enjoyed his talk-☺
No need for you to apologize, Pablo-☺; your English is just find!!☺ Believe it!!☺ Accept it!!☺ I can assure you, I am not being bias!!☺

> he was invited to speak this friday in the U.L.T

I wonder, would he dare to classify HPB's phenomenons as "tricks"?
If yes, he risks to get under a shower of eggs and tomatoes.
If it happens, I would like to buy this DVD.

Ah?!!☺ Ha, ha, ha, Konstantin, does this mean you will only buy the DVD if he's showered by eggs and tomatoes?!!☺ Aha, ha, ha, you have made my day!!☺

►"...I would hope that he becomes more visible on the national scene."<---Me too!!☺

►"He's a excellent speaker"<---Then we should try our best to bring about any and all opportunities for him to give talks-☺ Will be sending an e-mail to "Olcott" and suggest their consideration on inviting him to "Olcott" and perhaps have the privilege of watching a webcast...I doubt this can be done in the near future, tough…, with the economic situation we are facing at present...On the other hand, perhaps some one(s) would generously sponsor his trip to Olcott..? If he is as good speaker, as I am beginning to understand that he is, I'll pitch in and make a donation to make this happen…; we have over 500 TC members now, if we can get 100 or 150 persons donating $10.00; 200, or 250 persons donating $5.00, we can accomplish it, right?!!☺ I’d say, let’s us work on this and make it happen, guys!!☺ Let’s take advantage of having him in the physical plane still, and able and willing to provide such valuable service on behalf of Theosophy and society in general!!☺

Excellent Theosophical speakers is what Theosophy needs..☺ Let’s be creative and proactive!!☺ I am going to send $10.00 to TC committee; perhaps we can create a fund to support events like this. Yeeesss!!☺ I feel good about this!!☺ Will follow through!!☺

Michael was in Wheaton last year for the Inter-American Federation conference, but did not speak. He will be part of a panel on Theosophical Unity this Friday at the International Theosophy Conference at the USC Davidson Conference Center in LA.

►"Michael was in Wheaton last year for the Inter-American Federation conference"<---Would it be accurate to deduce that he speaks Spanish, Jon? Can Spanish speaking TS study centers invite him too, then?

Hi everybody!

michaelcarlo said,

"I was a bit disappointed by the way Ian led Gnomes around. When Ian questioned the phenomenon that H.P.B caused to manifest (tea cup, rose petals) Gnomes said he didn't believe it and explained it away as a parlor trick of sorts. He spoke about H.P.B. as the Historian he is, but sounded too politically correct, apologetic when Ian tried to link H.P.B to the Nazi's."

--> I thought I would give my answer to such a charge against Mr Gomes. I, too, have recently been forced to defend some of HPB's negative comments. Here is a thread, at the end of which I discuss how I was forced to defend some of HPB's negative comments:

http://theosophical.ning.com/forum/topics/theosophy-shame?page=5&am...

The crux of the issue is that HPB said the Jewish religion is a degenerate religion. (SD vol 2 p 200). I was was suddenly and unexepctedly forced to defend her words. I was caught off-guard, and I ended up saying that the Jewish religion is degenerate because HPB said so. (Big mistake.) Thus, I was place in the same type of dilemma that Mr. Gomes was placed in. Believe me, it is a very difficult dilemma to be put into. (I have since changed my opinion of what HPB said.)

I do not think Mr. Gomes is guilty of spreading humbug about HPB, as someone has charged. I think he was just caught in a quandry of how to answers the numerous charges against HPB, he did the best he could, but his being unprepared to answer charges against HPB left him coming across as being one of HPB's detractors (which he clearly is not.) I feel the charge that he is a detractor of HPB is an unfair accusation. He just did not know how to properly respond to the charges against HPB and Theosophy.

Sinse we are all "Ambassadors of Theosophy" to the world, we must all become proficient at correctly answering the many charges that have been leveled at HPB for over 100 years. We need to be prepared to answer anti-HPB charges like Mr. Gomes did, and to do it positively and convincingly. In my opinion, Mr. Gomes' only "crime" was a lack of preparation.

Most non-Theosophists in the world seem to think HPB was a charlatan and a racist. We need to turn this perception around, and start telling people what HPB really taught.
